Is it possible to combine residential fence elements with those intended for industrial applications? A project completed at the headquarters of an Italian company shows that it is. And in a remarkably successful way, too.
The fence is one of the most important components of any property – whether it’s a home or a business. Its primary function is to secure the premises from intruders and provide privacy. Another important factor is its aesthetics – when properly selected, it enhances the property’s style and gives it a unique character.
A fence is composed of several elements that need to be well-matched to ensure both functionality and aesthetics. These include the entrance gate, wicket, and fence segments. In this case, the investor decided to combine solutions dedicated for industrial applications with those typically used in residential construction.
A striking combination
The HOME INCLUSIVE collection is one of the most popular choices among customers. It consists of five fence models made of box sections and solid sheet – depending on the model. Modern, minimalist structures are ideal for those who value privacy and wish to shield themselves from the outside world. At the Italian company, the HOME INCLUSIVE segments and wicket harmonize perfectly with the building’s façade and simple architectural style. The overall effect is a well-executed reference to modernist forms and colours, broken only by the bright company logo on one of the walls.
To further emphasize individuality or style, the gate, wicket, or segments can be personalized in selected designs through the use of decorative elements, coating, or louvre perforation. One of six types of decorative motifs can also be used.
Access to the company is secured by the PI130 sliding gate, which is dedicated for industrial applications. It is a truly robust cantilever structure that does not require the installation of any additional elements in the clear passage. The leaf is fixed to a running rail and moves on carriages mounted on a concrete foundation. The gate operates approximately 110 mm above ground level, without making contact with the ground, and can also be installed on an unpaved driveway. It makes it possible to close off entrances up to 9 metres wide with a single gate, or up to 16 metres when two converging gates are used.
The gate infill consists of horizontal sheet metal panels, 1 mm thick, with gaps between the panels – panels from the HOME INCLUSIVE collection, model AW.10.228 – the exact same panels used in the fence segments. This helped achieve a consistent, elegant appearance throughout the entire fence system, while maintaining the high durability and safety parameters typical of industrial solutions.
Safe solutions
Speaking of safety, it is important to emphasize that both manual and automatic PI130 gates carry the CE marking, ensuring compliance with the PN EN 13241-1 standard. Safety edges and photocells cause the gate to stop and reverse in the event of contact with an obstacle, while a warning light signals that the gate leaf is in motion. A safety switch in the control station causes the gate to stop immediately. The drive unit in automatic gates is concealed inside the post, which not only protects it from the weather conditions, but also prevents unauthorized access.
A perfect addition
An excellent complement to the system of segments, wickets, and entrance gates is the use of fence panels. WIŚNIOWSKI panels are extremely durable and maintain their appearance and function for many years. Their production process involves galvanizing the finished components, followed by powder coating. The DUPLEX technology provides a 10-year corrosion protection warranty.
The VEGA 2D SUPER panels perfectly complement the segments and wicket from the HOME INCLUSIVE residential collection, as well as the PI130 industrial entrance gate. The investor consistently opted for simplicity, resulting in a complete solution for the entire property. This type of panels is characterized by its flat design with no ribs and a double horizontal reinforcement made of a larger gauge wire, providing high rigidity and durability. Various installation methods enable perfect adaptation, regardless of the terrain. Posts can be installed directly in the ground or on a concrete foundation using base plates.
